Library Computers

The library has nine public access computers available for customers with a valid CAFÉ library card. Computers are available on a first come first served basis, and each user is allowed 90 minutes per day.  Data can be saved to USB drives. Black & white laser printers are available at each computer. Users can access the Internet and Microsoft Office 2016 products which include Excel and Word.

The library also offers an enclosed computer room for 1-2 people. This room has Microsoft Office Suite 2016 software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher. Photo editing software is also available. Other equipment includes a scanner and black & white laser printer.  To use this room, please stop by the Reference Desk. This computer can be reserved up to one week in advance.

The library owns 2 Chromebooks that are available for checkout for in-building use only. You must have a library card to checkout a Chromebook. Chromebooks are available at the Adult Reference Desk to checkout for a time block of up to 60 minutes. Chromebooks cannot be reserved. Checkout is on a first come, first served basis. By checking out a Chromebook, you assume responsibility for any damage or loss to the Chromebook or accessories that occurs during your checkout period.

Printers and Copiers

Printing charges for all computers are 10¢ per page for black & white. Color printing from a USB drive (files must be in PDF or JPEG format) is available from the copier (50¢ per page). USB drives are also available for purchase.

PHPL offers free wireless for all users.

Reserve a Study Room

PHPL has five study rooms for use by the public. One of these rooms has a desktop computer. Three of the rooms are available for quiet study or group work for 1-2 people. The larger group study room is meant for quiet study, discussion, or for a small meeting of up to 6 people.

Study rooms may be reserved up to one week in advance or used on a first-come, first served basis if not reserved. They may be reserved for up to 90 minutes per day, and use may continue beyond that limit if no one else needs the room at that time. The total reserved use of the study rooms in a calendar day for use by an individual may not exceed 90 minutes. A group of two or more people may also reserve the rooms for not more than 90 minutes in a day; multiple members of the group may not make reservations in their own names for the group in order to gain more than 90 minutes of reserved time for the group
