Create a collage project inspired by Crooked Heart by Lissa Evans, then turn your art into a button or magnet! Library staff will guide attendees in the project and conversation around the book. Participants are encouraged to read the book before the event, but it is not required.

Two chances to participate! This 90 minute program is being offered at 1:30PM and 6:30PM. Pick the time that works best for you. Space is limited and registration is required. Call 262-246-5181 or email Adult Services to sign up!

This event and More Than a Book Club is made possible thanks to a donation by Meijer.

Artist’s Project Prompt:

In Chapter 10 of Crooked Heart, Noel and Vera discover Mrs. Gifford’s suffragette pins in a pawn shop window. We learn that the words on the medals represent significant moments in her actions to secure the vote for women. They illustrate characteristics and values that define her.

What word or phrase describes you?

Prior to Art by the Book, consider a word or phrase that is meaningful to you. Think about images that might connect to that word. You will be creating a collage using a variety of art supplies and images. If you have special photos, craft papers, stickers, or other ephemera you would like to use, please bring it with you. We look forward to seeing your creation.
