Join the Friends group and help to raise funds and provide programs for the public. The Friends run an ongoing book sale at the Library, host an annual Holiday Book Sale, and meet throughout the year to organize fundraising efforts and plan programs. Learn more here.
Contribute to the Library Foundation
The Pauline Haass Public Library Foundation is a citizen advocacy organization that exists to provide supplemental funding for projects, equipment, or startup services that are beyond the scope of the municipality-financed PHPL budget. Learn more here.
Donate Books and Other Materials
PHPL accepts donations of materials for use in the Library’s collection or for the Friends of the Library book sale. All proceeds of the book sale go to the Library.
We are happy to accept: Books, DVDs, VHS, music CDs, vinyl records, and audiobooks. Puzzles with ALL pieces. Items must be clean and in good condition (no markings, torn pages). Items must be completely intact without missing pages or parts.
We do NOT accept: Items with mold or odor. Cassette tapes, CD-ROMS, floppy discs, magazines, textbooks, yearbooks, crossword or other puzzle books. Items discarded from another library. Condensed book compilations (ie. Reader’s Digest). Computer or medical books older than 3 years. Travel books or maps older than 3 years. Encyclopedia sets older than 5 years (or incomplete sets). Materials made in violation of copyright laws.

Donate during library hours: Please do not leave donated materials outside library doors after hours or put them in the book drop.
Materials donated to the library cannot be accepted on a conditional basis. Items not added to the collection cannot be returned to the donor. All containers become the property of the library.

Donate as a Gift
You can also participate in the Gifts Program. This is a unique and memorable way to honor a person, group, occasion or milestone through a donation for the purchase of library materials. Please contact 262-246-5180 for more information about the Gifts Program.

Buy a Brick
Since 1995 the library has raised more than $40,000 by selling personalized bricks which are installed on the exterior plaza between the library and nearby Civic Center.
Originally a fundraiser which helped to meet the $150,000 challenge by Quad/Graphics, the bricks continue to be a way for people to help the library in a highly visible way while generating additional revenue for materials (books, movies, magazines, etc.).
Many people have used the bricks to memorialize or honor someone, while others have shown their support for the library by having their own names inscribed. Whenever possible, multiple bricks for a family are placed near each other.
Bricks are installed annually, but they can be purchased any time during the year. Bricks orders are usually placed in late summer, with installation in the fall.
The cost of a 4” x 8” brick (with either two or three lines of text) is $110, of which approximately $80 goes directly to the library. 8” x 8” bricks, which offer six lines of text, are $200 each, of which approximately $160 goes directly to the library.
Donors may pick one of four choices for use of the remaining money: any area of need, children’s materials, young adult materials, or adult materials. All orders must be paid in advance.
