Maximize Your Medicare Benefits

1 PM, Monday, October 20 (Registration opens 10/1)

Learn more about your Medicare options! This presentation will provide an overview of Medicare Parts A, B, C and D as well as supplemental insurance and an explanation of how they all fit together. The program will also include information about Medicare’s upcoming annual open enrollment period (October 15 – December 7) and an explanation of how to use and understand the plan comparison tool on Medicare’s website. Presentation is provided by the Waukesha County ADRC and GWAAR.

Opioid Misuse and Overdose Prevention

6:30 PM, Wednesday, October 22 (Registration opens 9/19)

Join Waukesha County Health and Human Services to learn more about opioids, signs of overdose, and to receive a free training on how to administer Narcan (Naloxone), a life-saving tool. Free Naloxone kits will be available to attendees while supplies last.

 

Make It! @ the Library

The Make It! @ the Library series is the perfect opportunity for adults to get creative and socialize!

Registration is required. Because space is limited, please register for only one session each month. 

 

5th Annual Gingerbread House Decorating Contest

Rules & Guidelines will be available online on October 1. All gingerbread houses must be dropped off at the library by December 4. Visit the library from December 6-31 to view the gingerbread houses and vote for your favorites. Special Wisconsin-themed category this year!

FamilySearch: The Best Free Genealogy Resource

Explore all the facets of FamilySearch that make it such a great free online tool. Learn how to search more efficiently, use the catalog feature, and how Family Trees can be used for clues. This class is led by Anni Parsons, genealogist, archivist and librarian with Archive Your Past.

 

Shelf Indulgence Book Club

Meet with fellow bibliophiles to discuss three books you’ve enjoyed, one you didn’t, and the book you are currently reading, and leave with more titles for your TBR list!

 

Memory Café

3:00-4:30 PM, Monday, December 15 (Registration opens 11/17)

A Memory Café is an informal social gathering for those living with early-stage memory loss and their care partners. Offered in partnership with the Library Memory Project. Registration is appreciated but is not required.
